Wonderful Melbourne, Australia

Okay... before anything... guess what this is... can you guess it? It's not a pancake... it's not a roti canai... not a chapati or even any other Indian bread... infact it's not a bread at all...

Hahahaha... actually... it's starch... we make porridge quite often but during one particular time we didn't really rinse the rice well before we cooked it and so it was extremely starchy and it formed a layer at the bottom of the pot and after we were done cooking it came out like that... weird ei...

Isn't the sky beautiful... took this two days ago... Just thought that the clouds gave a great effect... So... it's been a month or so since I've been here... and this is what I feel... After my dad left Melbourne... I was left all alone and I stayed in a hotel... the truth was that it was actually quite lonely even though I managed to pass the time without thinking much about it because I was busy watching TV... Then of course on February 27 I moved into my current apartment... Initially we were only scheduled to move in on the 1st of March but after much pestering from Priscilla... we managed to move in 2 days ahead... For those of who are not here in Melbourne... I can only provide you with pictures but those who are here can come visit me... ;P Hahahaha...

This is the living room... it's damn huge... very comfy!!

Kitchen & Dining

Hallway

My messy bedroom

Priscilla's huge room

Ivy's packed room

Bathroom

If you ask my housemates... they will tell you that when we first moved in... I was the first to sleep and sleep really early for that fact. Also always complaining about wanting a TV and internet... Now I am usually the last to sleep... or at least I think so... when it gets late we usually shut out doors so as to not disturb the other... and I am the first to wake... the one who usually cooks... the one always watching TV and the one always online... I think I am home the most amongst the 3 of us...My classes usually ends early... by early meaning 3 at the latest unlike some people who actualy end at 7 p.m.!!!! That's nuts... I am really really attached to my aparment already... I always thinking of returning when I am in classes or whatever... I would say that the 3 of us get along fabulously... and what a relief it was when I instantly clicked with Ivy... I was quite worried at first because I didn't know who she was at all until the day we moved in... but yeah we're great buds already... hahaha... But seriously... I think I do't feel homesick because I have the two of them around... feels like home to me... ;P

Priscilla is the "da jie" of the house... she's the eldest and takes the most responsibility around... BUT she's damn 'perasan'!! I tell you that girl always bullies me and then blames Ivy... that poor girl... but Ivy always scoulds me as well... hahaha I am the youngest... hehehehe... but we are always bullying each other... all 3 of us are so evil that's why we click so well... a common trait... hahaha... but the truth is I really love the two of them... hahaha... makes life interesting...

For those of you who don't know or are always forgetting... I am studying Civil Engineering and Commerce combined degree... yes I will graduate with two different certificates... and the course will take 5 years... For my Engineering subjects this semester I am doing Maths A and Engineering Statics (a really shitty subject)... and for commerce I am doing Microeconomics the compulsory subject and Accounting Reports & Analysis (another shitty subect)... I really hate those two shitty subjects... Engineering Statics is really difficult to follow... according to my tutor it was meant to be a second semester subject but because we got a new dean he decided to change the arrangement... arrggghhhh and I am damn suffering... as for Accounts... it's shtty because the lecturer is really really really BORING!! I fall alseep during his lectures all the time... thankfully they have it all recorded...

The University of Melbourne campus is quite large... no actually it's not large it's clustered so the paths are complicated making it seem large... when I first started I could never find my way around the campus properly... I've gotten lost a few times... but now it's become rather easy... but I know there are still have loads of paths which I haven't taken yet... so until then the place remains a mystery... the campus itself isn't really special or anything but the atmosphere around is always quite lively... and there seem to be a lot of activities being organized... never a dull moment... well only during public holidays... there are usually people there even on weekends and during the night... weird... The food there is fair... but as usually really ex!! Okay let's say we want to buy a plate of fried rice is like $6!!! Crazy RM18 for a lousy fried rice!!! Hahahaha... cheapest is pizza... $1 per slice but not very big slice...

Melbourne itself is a fairly quiet, peaceful and laid-back city... There are a lot of Asians around the campus and the city but if you go further then there's less... When out at night have to look out for those drunks but otherwise it's fairly safe... quite a nice place to just chill out...

I find the people here are just like in any other countries... some good and some bad... So far those nice 'locals' I've met are of Asian blood... and otherwise they don't stick around much... or maybe because I don't put in the effort... but generally the people are nice and polite...

As for the weather... it's pretty crazy here... unlike in Malaysia where we know it's rainy season or besides that hot 24/7... here it's like pluctuating all the time... it can be freaking hot in the afternoon and evening and freezing at night... It was pretty cold when I first got here but the it changed to sunny and a few days ago it was down right hot! Then today it rained and the wind is blowing like crazy... Sometimes it's a sunnyday but it's actually pretty cold so if you stand in the shade you'll need a cardigan or whatever and if you're standing in the light you'd want to be sleeveless... hahaha...

Well... the 10 day Easter break ends today!! Sob sob... Well since now is 12.17 a.m. local time here... I'll be back in uni in about 8 hours or so... AHHHH!!! Can't believe it... sigh... the torture continues... Cheers...
