Ok so basically the day pretty much started the night before... we stayed up pretty late playing poker and me making sandwiches for race day... Then we stayed up talking and what not... and because the day had an extra hour because daylight savings came to an end and so after tinkering with the laptop for sometime I finally went to sleep at about 3am... and woke up 2.5 hours later... to shower and get ready because we planned to leave at 7... after everyone was ready we hopped on the tram and headed for Albert Park, home of the Australian F1 Grand Prix... we were not the first ones there but we were pretty early... we were so early that the gate to the autograph section wasn't opened yet... and we waited for about an hour... and when it was finally opened we have to queue in line for about another hour Giancarlo Fisichella's autograph on to find out one second before he was due that he was sick and had to go visit his doctor... damn... we were so dissapointed... but hey we got some free stationary... maybe about $30 worth... and Stefan and Julia manage to rest a bit... especially with Stefan having no sleep at all the night before because we went for Paul Van Dyk, this famous European DJ's concert thingi which started at 3 am and ended at 6 am... and anyway so we rushed to get our seats at a place that Helen has scouted for us on Friday... it was at a corner and there was a large screen there... plus the tiolets were hear and everything... good place... we managed to squeeze our way to the front and made a little spot for myself, Helen, Julia and Bianca whom joined us later... Stefan had Grand Stand tickets so he went off on his own... there was still about 2-3 hours left before the race which was basically filled with air shows and other minor races... there was one which was a celebrity race... with was quite entertaining actually because they were driving these little mercedes suv's and the drivers were pretty aggressive not hesitating to smash the other cars... Then finally the race started... awesome awesome race I have to say... seriously... with all the drama... and that incident at the finish line where Jenson's car blew up... oh man... that was heartbreaking... he was doing so well... we then climbed onto the tracks and followed the crowd to the podium but by the time we got there they were done... but Alonso was still there celebrating his win... Personally it was the best race I had been to... awesome!!! Definitely a must next year... ;p Cheers...
